The COVID-19 is pretty much consuming all of our lives right now. Information about it is everywhere, we can’t help NOT to see it. The stores are flooded with people and scarce on products. It is really stressful to everyone everywhere. Here are a few activities we can do to get our minds off the virus and on ourselves for a second or two.
Read a book
Reading is essential. Reading is relaxing. Reading can be an adventure. Its really up to you what you make it. Some people get sleepy reading. I love reading, I love learning new things. Pick up the book you bought earlier this year. Buy a book that interests you or one that comes highly recommended by your favorite motivational person on Instagram.
Soak in the tub
Do you know the benefits of soaking in the tub every now and then? Well, let me tell my favorite. My favorite benefit of soaking is improvement of sleep. It relaxes your mind and body. It feels great. Try it at least once a week if you are not into baths.
Have a cup of hot tea
Im not talking about calling your girlfriend and discussing the latest gossip. Im referring to an actual cup of hot tea. I love green tea with fresh squeezed lemon throughout the day to curb my appetite. If you see me with a Yeti cup, its most likely hot tea in it, or maybe water on a hot day. Tea is my favorite beverage of choice these days. Different teas have different affects. I love trying new teas as well. Chamomile tea is another favorite of mine. Try some hot tea instead of those carbonated beverages sometime. See and feel the difference in how your day goes.
Get moving
Its recommended that we exercise 3-5 days per week. I never understood that as a 20 year old. Now, at 32, I totally understand. I feel better. I look better. My day is better. It gives me energy and confidence. Since we are quarantined, I think I would like to aim for 6 days a week. It may be a bit much but that’s how much better I feel. Walking, running, cycling..they are all great for our bodies. Lets get moving more and live longer for our friends and families.
Pick up the phone
Don’t get on Facebook or Instagram just YET! Hold on, now! Im advising that you make a phone call. CALL that person who has been on your mind for a while. We have gotten away from phone calls over the year due to the numerous ways to connect with people.
These are just a few, they are countless ways to relieve stress! Comment below what you do to relieve stress or how you have been staying calm during this time.
